A Note from the Artist:
Through my art, I aim to preserve memories that once felt ordinary but now carry deep emotional value. These are the shared experiences that defined our upbringing—before smartphones, before constant connectivity—when life moved differently, and connection felt more personal. My work is designed to trigger recognition and nostalgia. I want millennials to see a painting and immediately feel something familiar—a moment that takes them back. Whether it’s the memory of adjusting a black-and-white television with pliers, hearing the distinct sound of a rotary phone, or simply the feeling of being present in a time before digital distractions, my goal is to reconnect people with those experiences.
At the same time, my art serves as a bridge across generations. For Gen X, it reflects the transition into a new era—capturing life as it was just before rapid technological change. For younger generations, it offers a glimpse into a way of living they may have never experienced, helping them understand the culture creativity, and resourcefulness that defined that time.
Through my signature finger painting style, I bring these memories to life with texture, emotion, and movement—creating work that feels both abstract and deeply personal. My art is not just about what is seen, but what is remembered and felt.
Ultimately, my mission is to preserve the stories of a generation, celebrate cultural identity, and create meaningful connections through art that resonates across time.
This event is part of the Kentucky Performing Arts ArtsReach MeX Project. The ArtsReach MeX Project elevates artists and organizations within our community by providing fully underwritten opportunities to produce creative work in The Kentucky Center’s Boyd Martin Experimental Theater (MeX).
