Stringfoot Training Perth - Saturday 9th of May Have you ever noticed a pigeon limping, missing toes or even missing a whole foot?? It is often due to a serious & overlooked issue affecting pigeons called 'stringfoot'.
Stringfoot is a incredibly painful and preventable condition that affects many pigeons in urban areas. It happens when materials like hair, string, fishing line or even stuffing from toys or pillows wrap tightly around a pigeons toes or feet.
Over time, these materials constrict the blood supply, cause extreme swelling, infection and in severe cases, loss of toes or the entire foot over many, many months of unimaginable pain.
If you'd like to know more about how to catch pigeons and treat stringfoot injuries, the Perth Pigeon Rescue is offering the first official training session!! We are by no means professionals but we can help give you the understanding and confidence to start catching and helping your local pigeons with stringfoot injuries.
WHEN: Saturday 9th of May
WHERE: Perth CBD at Forrest Chase seating area, near the information centre
TIME: 11:00am - approx. 12:30pm
We are hoping to get a small group come along so please comment your interest or contact Chloe Davidson directly. If you can't make it on this day, we can hold another session over another weekend or even do a Friday session.
