Saturday May 11th we will be hosting a fundraiser for Merrillville K9/Crown Point K9 fundraiser from 7am-11am at STRIDE fitness in Crown Point. STRIDE is a HIIT studio that incorporates treadmill work as well as strength into their workouts. The classes that day are donation classes where we ask for a monetary donation to participate in the class. We are asking for a $20 donation that will go be split between both K9 Associations which are also nonprofit organizations. They both help to support the K9s and their handlers with many out of pocket costs such as food, toys, enrichment, training equipment, professional development, as well as any medical emergencies for the dogs as these things are not covered by the police departments.
ANYONE can drop in for these classes, you do not have to be a member of STRIDE. If you are interested in taking a class, call the studio to reserve a tread and get set up prior to the fundraiser. There may be treads available the day of but to ensure your spot, give them a call first. Normally drop-in classes are $22 so not only are you saving a few bucks here, you're also helping out the K9s 😀
After the two donation classes, the studio will be open for anyone to come check it out so bring the kids, have them test out a tread with music and lights on.
Class one: 7am- 7:55am combo (strength and tread)
Class two: 8:15am to 9:30am ultra stride classic (all tread walk, jog, or run)
Sensory friendly studio time for anyone to pop in and check out.
9:30am-11am
We will be set up in the parking lot selling t-shirts as well. A few of the K9s will also be present for this fundraiser. Mark your calendars, we'd love to see your smiling faces 😊
