Cynthia is a movement educator with an impressive resume spanning 35+ years of teaching dance, yoga, pilates, and fitness in various settings to people of all ages and issues. With specialties in BioMechanics, Corrective Exercise, and Pilates Rehab… Cynthia can help you get a great workout while focusing on your specific needs; and can help all bodies from high-performance athletes to post rehab.
She is internationally certified to teach the Pilates Method through the PhysicalMind Institute and the Ellie Herman Studio in the San Francisco Bay Area and has taught at colleges, studios, gyms, and virtually. She holds a 500-hr yoga certification and is a master educator providing continuing education courses through the Yoga Alliance.
A lifelong learner of mindful movement practices, Cynthia loves helping people find their own joy in moving freely. Cynthia continues to choreograph and perform and was a Teaching Professor Emerita of Kinesiology at Iowa State University. She retired in 2025 and relocated to RI to be closer to her family. We are thrilled to have her caliber of teaching skills and experience on our team!
