Strength Training for Mental Health
About this Event
In any given year, the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare estimates that around one in five Australians aged 16–85 experience a mental health condition – and staying active is one of the most accessible ways to look after your wellbeing. Research has linked regular strength training to improved mood, lower stress and greater self-esteem, and being consistently active over time is associated with better mental wellbeing. In this monthly session, you’ll gain an understanding of strength training, how it can support mental health and wellbeing, and how to incorporate it into your everyday routine. The session is hosted by Michael from DoDay Personal Training – Hobart’s most highly reviewed personal trainer.
