Strength Training for Diabetes Management and Prevention

More than 1.5 million Australians live with type 2 diabetes. According to Diabetes Australia, up to 58% of type 2 diabetes cases may be prevented or delayed through healthier lifestyle changes. Muscle plays an important role in how the body uses glucose, which is why strength training is often part of the conversation around diabetes, and Australia’s physical activity guidelines recommend muscle-strengthening activities on at least two days each week. In this session, you’ll learn the fundamentals of strength training, how it relates to diabetes, and simple ways to incorporate it into your lifestyle. The session is hosted by Michael from DoDay Personal Training – Hobart’s most highly reviewed personal trainer.
