In this workshop, you will be discovering what street photography is, including its different styles and genres. We will cover understanding the myths around the laws and best guidance on the do's and don'ts.
Most of our day will be spent outside of the classroom, on the street putting into practice what we learn as we go including:
(A) Making the best use of your camera whether that be a phone of DSLR or anything in between!
(B) Understanding how to use ISO for flexibility.
(C) Discovering the pros and cons of Semi Auto modes including Aperture (A or AV) and Shutter Priority (S) in different situations and to develop our style.
(D) For those wishing to move beyond this to use the Manual mode.
(E) Explore the benefits of different focusing a s metering modes.
(F) Explore the use of light and shadows.
(G) Getting creative including silhouettes and more.
(H) Develop our eye for composition and creative opportunities.
(I) Be provided with details of free editing software.
At the end of the day students will come away with more confidence and an idea of their style of street photography.
Student testimonials:
Adrian's workshop was the perfect antidote to a life being lived too seriously and it felt very much like 'me' time. I really enjoyed the day and found it so valuable. I found the reassurance that there is no 'wrong' photo really freeing.
Excellent photography workshops provided by a professional, talented photographer. Adrian has a wealth of experience and is so friendly and patient. I have attended several of his workshops in Bristol and London and enjoyed them immensely, especially the street photography ones. They were also so much fun! Adrian has such a good eye for capturing detail and understanding the interplay of light and shadows. It was inspiring watching him work a scene. His teaching style is supportive and intuitive and he is able to explain complicated photography techniques in simple terms. I learnt so much which I have applied to my own photography!
