About this Event

Course Description

This workshop is for photographers who want to deepen their eye for the everyday, to notice light, gesture, and rhythm in public spaces, and capture authentic human moments with purpose.
We’ll explore the ethics and artistry of street photography, study a range of stylistic approaches, and spend time shooting in Chinatown and Kensington Market around Eyedot Studio. The class blends discussion, walking practice, and critique — helping you move from simply taking photos to seeing photographically.
You’ll Learn:
How to approach people and public space confidently and respectfully
Compositional techniques for layering, timing, and framing in dynamic environments
Working with light, shadow, and motion for visual energy
A 30-minute study of three influential photographers and their approaches example:
Garry Winogrand — capturing chaos, energy, and gesture
Billy Dinh — intimate observation, nostalgic composition and layers
Raghubir Singh — color, culture, and rhythm in urban life
How to edit and sequence your street work for narrative flow
Developing your own street sensibility and ongoing practice
