About this Event
Attention all Cyprus Data Enthusiasts! Join us for an evening of knowledge-sharing and networking at the Exness Streaming Data Meetup. Good content, drinks, and snacks are on us! Let's add some good people 😉
Schedule:
18:30 - 19:00 Guests Gathering.
🚗 Our big parking lot for guests is located behind Lidl Supermarket (directions). Please do not use Lidl parking ;) The entrance to the meetup is at Gate 1 from the Franklin Roosevelt str. Have your tickets prepared (mobile or printed).
19:00 - 19:40 Aleksey Studnev, Founder, | OLAP From Data Warehouse to Realtime Streaming
At Bitquery, Inc., we shifted our focus from a pure data warehouse solution for OLAP to a streaming messaging infrastructure. Our primary product being data analytical tools, market demand and the need for real-time data prompted us to expand beyond traditional OLAP databases. Consequently, we developed an infrastructure centered around data streams rather than databases.
I will discuss the challenges we faced during this transition, the solutions we implemented, and the outcomes of this experience. One significant challenge was ensuring a seamless experience for customers who are less familiar with underlying technologies but require high-quality data quickly. This may be of interest to developers working on real-time analytics, streaming messaging systems, and real-time SaaS applications.
19:40 - 20:00 Break
20:00 - 20:40 Gleb Shipilov, Team Lead in Data Integration, Alexey Perminov, Technical Lead in Data Integration, Exness | Apache Flink: Building a Company-wide Self-service Streaming Data Platform
We will cover every stage of building our self-service Streaming Data Platform using Apache Flink, Kafka, and Kafka Connect. This includes selecting a solution for stateful streaming data processing and designing a robust platform accessible to all development teams in our company. We'll address the challenges encountered, our solutions, and our approaches.
We'll also share our experience offering non-Java developers and analysts a company-wide self-service solution. This solution enables them to develop streaming data pipelines and analyze data from Kafka rapidly. Furthermore, we'll showcase specific business use cases made possible by our platform.
20:40 - 21:20 Alexey Yudin, Senior Data Engineer, inDrive | Building a Self-service Streaming Platform
In my talk, I will describe our journey of building a self-service streaming platform. We’ll discuss how the transition to a microservices architecture impacts the data team. I’ll also cover how we collect data from the new geo-distributed architecture, enable service teams to define data pipelines with declarative configurations, manage serialization and Protos compilation, safeguard against schema changes, and automate cloud infrastructure for data pipelines.
21:20 - 22:30 Free networking
