Stravinsky’s Soldier’s Tale — BridgeMusik Production | Nyack Center Aug 1–2
About this Event
🎻 A soldier. A violin. A deal with the Devil.
BridgeMusik opens its 2026 Summer Festival, We the Music – Celebrating 250 Years of American Voices, with a bold, fully staged production of Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale, paired with a world premiere by Thomas Cabaniss.
This special theatrical program brings together music, theater, and dance in a visually compelling interpretation of Stravinsky’s iconic work.
Telling the story of a soldier who trades his violin to the Devil in exchange for wealth, The Soldier’s Tale explores timeless themes of temptation, fate, and the true cost of ambition.
The program also includes the world premiere of Dedication to Faust by Thomas Cabaniss, written especially for the festival as a contemporary companion to Stravinsky’s theatrical masterpiece.
Directed by Malena Dayen and conducted by David Rosenmeyer, the performance features the BridgeMusik Festival Ensemble in a dynamic collaboration of music and storytelling.
