About this Event
Abigail Rokison-Woodall will talk about her research into theatrical projects that emerged in the 1960s and 70s at the Royal Shakespeare Company and which shaped its future.
The talk will feature Abigail’s work with Bafta and Emmy-award winning director Andrew Smith and will discuss their attempts to track down and record the memories of those who participated in ventures including Actors’ Commando, Theatregoround, The Stratford Roundhouse and the filming of Peter Hall’s 1969 A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in order to create a series of ‘Hidden Histories’ documentary films.
Inaugural lectures are a landmark in academic life, held on the appointment of new professorships. Join us to learn more about the work of Professor Abigail Rokison-Woodall.
The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception.
