Straight River Plant Swap, Buy and Sell

Our first Straight River Plant Swap, Buy and Sell! A public event for plant lovers, collectors and novices to swap, sell and buy plants. The focus will be on potted houseplants (including rooted cuttings, plantlets, supplies, etc.).

The event is broken down into two time periods for Swapping and Selling:
4 PM - 5 PM will be for swaps / trades only.
5 PM - 7 PM will be open to everyone else who just wants to browse and purchase plants and accessories from plant sellers.

Hosted by Heather Burston from Dirty Girls Soil Co. and Jennifer Nicholson from Pukka Plates. Heather is bringing you tropical plants and planty accessories. Jennifer is graciously hosing the event at her studio. We have many more surprises to add between now and the event!

Our local partners include:
•The Steele County Extension of the Minnesota Master Gardeners. They will have some knowledgeable volunteers available to answer questions and bring you more information on some of your newly aquired plants.
•Alexis Walsh from Snowie Paws Art will be bringing her crafty plushies and stickers down from Apple Valley (originally from Owatonna), she is making special plant themed work just for this event!
•Aselynn, from Ase's Sweets has agreed to make special planty themed cookies for this event! She is a young entrepreneur who has been growing her desert business since 2023.

Swap Rules:
•Be respectful: No grabbing plants from others.
There will be zero tolerance for this!
•Be open to negotiation: You can negotiate to arrive at a fair trade.
•Care Tags: Include plant name and information on how to care for the plant (Please avoid derogatory names. Examples: Wandering Jew, Indian Paintbrush)
•Bring healthy plants: Do not bring plants that are diseased or infested!
•Take home what you bring: A general rule is to not leave with more plants than you brought. However, this can vary depending on the value of the plants.
•When selling, please have prices posted.
•Please register for the event as a Swapper/Seller to help us keep track of the amount of space needed, as we may have to expand outside.
