About this Event
Welcome to the Straight Outta Brokenness Panel Discussion & Book Launch/Signing!
Come join us at the 16th Street Baptist Church for an inspiring event! For years, First Lady Candie A. Mitchell-Price has been a longstanding example of service, resilience, and empowerment making it her mission to use her gifts to help others become whole. She’s had thriving careers as an educator, entrepreneur, author, First Lady of the Historic 16th Street Baptist Church, and a leader in the marketing ecosystem. Even with all of those accomplishments, Candie felt a key piece to her personal puzzle was missing. The Philadelphia transplant, who has called Birmingham home for more than two decades grappled with unanswered questions about her identity and family lineage most of her life, until one night scrolling the internet changed her life.
Candie captures her journey to find her family in her newest release, Straight Outta Brokenness, And It Didn’t K*ll Me. The acclaimed, transparent, and poignant memoir was released to rave reviews on October 1, 2024. The paperback, ebook, and accompanying workbook are available at: candieprice.com, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other online retailers.
The official book launch of Straight Outta Brokenness, And It Didn’t K*ll Me by Candie A. Mitchell-Price, will take place on November 10th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the historic Sixteenth Street Baptist Church, located at 1530 Sixth Avenue N, Birmingham, AL 35203. The launch event will feature a compelling panel discussion with the author herself and April Betner, a licensed therapist from Anew Christian Counseling, LLC. in Willingboro, New Jersey. They will delve into the powerful messages within the book, discussing the journey from brokenness to breakthrough and the role of faith in healing and personal growth. The evening will be moderated by Tracie B. Threadford, a noted community advocate, and Tiffany Storey of Storehouse Counseling & Consulting. Their insights will further enrich the conversation, making it a must-attend for those interested in stories of personal and spiritual resilience. Following the panel discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to meet Mitchell-Price during a book signing session. This event is free and open to the public, providing a fantastic opportunity for community members to engage directly with the themes of the book and connect with the author.
