About this Event
Join us for the first in this series of Crucial Community Conversation gatherings to meet fellow residents, share feedback with city officials, and build a collective vision for the future of Stow.
When you picture a “Stow resident” or a “Munroe Falls resident,” who do you picture in your mind? What happens to the members of the community who do not fit that image? How does their experience differ from those from the majority group? This community conversation is a courageous dialogue on belonging, inclusion and the benefits of seeing everyone as part of the community fabric.
On this Martin Luther King Jr Day, attendees will hear from local speakers on the continued importance of Martin Luther King Jr's message in our local community, and immediately following, come together with neighbors to discuss a variety of topics to strengthen our understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion. Refreshments will be served.
This year's Community Conversations are loosely modeled after the community gathering programs at the Akron Community Foundation and the Cleveland Foundation.
The goal of these events are not merely to spark conversation, but to move the city forward with tangible responses to the concerns of its residents, whether these responses originate with city officials or neighbors simply helping neighbors.
In the spirit of service for Martin Luther King Jr Day and to have a tangible impact on our community, attendees are encouraged to bring a monetary donation to support Bulldog Bags, Inc.
