About this Event
Stow-Ho House Presents Vinyl, All Night Long - Thur 6th March
Your Thursday evening just got better.
Stow-Ho House is back with a vinyl only special and we’re delighted to have London clubbing institution Secretsundaze (aka producer/DJ/curator James Priestley) helm the turntables. Secretsundaze is the trademark of forward-thinking, underground dance music. As an artist and brand – spanning parties and festivals, record labels, a studio, an NTS residency and a live band project – it’s been operating for over 20 years and embodies the spirit and community of London’s club culture. Priestley originally cut his teeth as a d’n’b DJ and a promoter of not-so-legal warehouse parties before becoming an annual resident at the legendary Robert Johnson and landing gigs at Panorama Bar and Queen at Smart Bar, which is the kind of gigography that many selectors would happily settle for.
But that’s not all. A true pioneer of House music, since the 90’s rave revolution shaped a generation, Lottie has been a DJ, voice, orchestrator & influencer. Her thirst for new music is matched only by her passion for the history to be heard. DJing wasn’t a “proper job” back then; it was an escape, a wonderland. The scene was built on inclusion, but for Lottie to have broken through, as a female DJ back then, is still remarkable, and inspiring today. The records she once championed when presenting The Essential Selection on Radio 1 over a decade ago, and more recently guest presenting Radio 2’s Dance Devotion, reminds us of her heritage as one of the UK’s finest ever DJs and one of the first female players on a British scene that was to take over the world, and her with it.
Our residents Trafford and Samuel Potts will support and once again our 100 year old institution and community hub Walthamstow Trades Hall will be transformed into a massive rave featuring some of the finest DJs in the country and production from Will Potts (Lighting Stage Design).
