A Bilingual Picture Book Event Celebrating Chinese Culture
Join us for a special bilingual picture book event celebrating Chinese culture and storytelling.
Many children in the U.S. grow up learning about the Western image of the “dragon,” but fewer are introduced to the cultural meaning behind the Chinese Loong (龙).
The beloved picture book I’m a Loong, Not a Dragon helps young readers explore this difference while discovering the beauty of Chinese traditions.
On Saturday, March 14, we are excited to welcome author Cynthia X. Li for a special in-person visit at Yige Cultural Bookstore. Cynthia will read her book live and share the inspiration behind the story.
This family-friendly event is hosted together with Zeta Charter Schools, celebrating culture, literacy, and community.
Come enjoy a warm afternoon of stories, learning, and fun.

Cynthia X. Li is the author of the children’s picture book I’m a Loong, Not a Dragon, a story that introduces young readers to the cultural meaning of the Chinese dragon.
Through playful storytelling and vibrant illustrations, Cynthia hopes to help children better understand Chinese culture and feel proud of their heritage.
During this event, she will read the book live and share the creative story behind it.

3月14日（周六）下午，我们特别邀请到本书作者 Cynthia X. Li 来到 Yige Cultural Bookstore，为孩子们现场读绘本，并分享创作背后的灵感。
本次活动由 Zeta Charter Schools 联合举办，希望通过阅读、文化与互动活动，为家庭带来一个充满乐趣的下午。
