Storytime at Wolbach Farm: The Weedy Garden

Children and caregivers are invited to Wolbach Farm for a morning of storytelling with Sudbury Valley Trustees. We’ll read the picture book, The Weedy Garden: A Happy Habitat for Wild Friends by Margaret Renkle, with illustrations by her brother Billy Renkl.
This delightful book celebrates the biodiversity of a wildlife-friendly backyard garden filled with wonderful weeds. The book is best for ages 4-8 who will be mesmerized by the text and inviting collage-style illustrations that promote the idea animals and plants can thrive in an untidy habitat. The book also includes eco-friendly tips and art project instructions.
After the story, children may complete a craft project to take home. If there’s time, all are welcome to visit the Nature Nook at the farmhouse or take a walk along the George Lewis Memorial Trail loop. Or, families are welcome to enjoy our new, shady picnic area next to the main parking lot. Feel free to pack a lunch or a snack.
