About this Event

Every nonprofit has stories worth telling. The challenge is recognizing them, capturing them, and finding practical ways to share them when communications is only one of the many things on your plate.

Storytelling That Moves the Mission is a hands-on workshop designed to help nonprofit and community organizations turn the work they're already doing into stories that help people understand why that work matters.

Participants will learn how to identify strong stories within their organizations, have better conversations with the people behind those stories, capture useful photos, audio, and video with tools they already have, and shape that material into content they can actually use.

The goal isn't to turn nonprofit staff into professional marketers or filmmakers. It's to give them a simple, repeatable process for communicating their impact through real people and real stories.

About Nikki Darling Marra

Nikki Darling Marra is an award-winning producer, broadcaster, educator, and community storyteller with more than two decades of experience in radio, podcasting, digital media, higher education, and community communications.

Her work has received two Davey Awards, a New York Festivals Award, and national recognition from Jacobs Media. She has developed and taught broadcasting and media curriculum at the college level and has worked across professional media, nonprofit, civic, and community storytelling projects.

Nikki created Amplify Local to make professional storytelling skills more accessible to the organizations and people doing meaningful work in their communities.
