People sharing stories with other people. No experience necessary and never a cover charge.
Do Not Submit is a series of free open mics around Chicagoland where people from all walks of life and backgrounds can come together each month to connect through the sharing of stories in an enthusiastic, supportive environment free from pressure, judgment, or scoring.
The venue is open all day. Sign up list begins at 6:45. Stories begin at 7:00.
Hosted by Rick Jackson, Sylvia Mavaji, and Raj Sehgal.
How it works: Show up and write your name on the list. We'll call names in order of sign up, and when we get to you, you will have seven minutes to tell/read/interpretively dance your personal story/folk tale/persuasive essay on proper flossing. No limit on content or language except for hate speech.
We'll get to as many people on the list as possible before the venue closes. Late sign up possible if there is space on the list.
Listeners welcome.
Dining and drinks available all evening. Half price burgers on Mondays. This is an all ages venue.
Free parking in private lot and the Metra lot after 5 PM. Metra Station is outside their door.
