Bio: Jaylene Clark Owens, a Harlem native in Greater Philadelphia, is an AUDELCO and Barrymore award-winning actress, poet, and author. Jaylene's magnetic presence has graced the stage, film, and television. She is a company member at The Wilma Theater, where she hosts an Open Mic series. You can catch her as Rosie in the hit WHYY PBS Kids show, “Albie’s Elevator.” Jaylene’s poetry has received over 11 million streams across music platforms and social media, and has been shared by thousands, including notable celebrities and brands. Her viral poem, “A Black Girl and Her Braids,” was adapted into a children’s picture book of the same name, published by Penguin Random House.
