He won a folk life award from the Washington Arts Commission for his work in teaching about Coast Salish art.He currently teaches courses on storytelling and art at the University of Washington, Northwest Indian College, and other learning institutions.
Opening Teller: Regina King
Regina has been teaching for well over 20 years and her students have been terrific listeners to many of her stories! Hailing from Brooklyn, NY and living in many different regions of the USA, Regina seems to attract colorful characters into her life. It’s a good thing because those characters make for great storytelling and add richness to her life.
The past year and a half Regina has been having a blast learning about storytelling as an art, social skill and tool to be seen.
