Stories We Tell: RochdalePart of Greater Manchester Town of Culture programme 2025-26.
Join us for an immersive night-time light and audio experience that brings Rochdale’s streets to life through the real stories of local people.
Audiences are invited to walk through the heart of the town while listening to powerful binaural soundscapes featuring everyday moments, personal histories and reflections from the people who call Rochdale home. Through projected imagery and immersive storytelling, we bring familiar streets to life in new and unexpected ways.
Originally created in Rochdale in 2021 and now returning home for the Town of Culture programme, Stories We Tell celebrates the memories, people and places that shape our community.
The route is step-free and suitable for wheelchair users and prams. Headphones, guidance and support from volunteers will be provided.
