With over 35 years in law enforcement, Patti Jackson has spent her career in the rooms where public safety decisions get made. Today, she leads that work herself as Chief of Police for the Tacoma Police Department.
Since taking the helm at TPD, Chief Jackson has taken on one of the department's most persistent challenges: officer vacancies. She proposed a collaborative lateral incentive program to the Tacoma City Council, who passed it unanimously, and the department has seen vacancy numbers drop as a direct result.
Born and raised in the Tacoma area, Chief Jackson is proud to call this region home, and she works every day to make it a safer place where everybody can thrive.
