The National Parks Conservation Association is hosting the Stop Music Valley Mine Community Information Meeting in the Bell Center Community Room on the Copper Mountain College campus in Joshua Tree on Wednesday, July 15, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
An Australian mining company has staked 20,000+ acres of mining claims on public lands in the Pinto Mountains/Music Valley area.
The area is adjacent to the City of Twentynine Palms, Joshua Tree National Park, Wonder Valley, and is visible from Utah Trail Road. The Pinto Mountains and Music Valley are known and loved for being desert tortoise habitat, as well as for their recreational opportunities and good old desert solitude.
If you're concerned about opening up miles of mining near the national park and our communities, then please come to this informational meeting to learn more.
