Info: Currently the first year CSSANZ Colorectal Fellow at Prince of Wales Hospital. Did my surgical training in the Prince of Wales/Bankstown training network. Prior to this year, I have also done 2 years of colorectal fellowship in Wollongong Hospital as well as in Singapore.

Info: Sam is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Stomal Therapy Service at Wollongong Hospital, delivering care across acute settings, nurse led clinics, peripheral hospitals, and the community. After working on the Surgical Ward since 2006 and experiencing stoma formation surgery herself in 2017, she completed the Graduate Certificate in Stomal Therapy and transitioned into specialist practice. She is passionate about supporting people with a stoma through adjustment and long term self management.

Info: Angela is a Senior psychologist from The Royal Hospital for Women -Gynaecological Oncology Department. She has over 30 years experience working with chronic health conditions including; gynaecological oncology, mental health, drug and alcohol and chronic pain. Angela has a special interest in women’s health generally and is focused on helping women in the gynae- oncology space to address issues such adjustment to diagnosis, managing uncertainty, transitioning through treatments, managing stoma surgery and ongoing issues, fertility issues, survivorship and sexual functioning.

Karen Winterbourn was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 1990. Alongside multiple bowel resections, in 2006, she had surgery for a permanent colostomy. While the resections left her with Short Bowel Syndrome/Intestinal Failure and dependent on Home Parenteral Nutrition, she now relishes stable health and opportunity to ‘smell the roses’.
