Visit your local Hydroelectric Power scheme, producing renewable energy on the River Goyt for over 10 years.
Greater Manchester’s first community owned hydro electric project is run entirely by volunteers* Producing power that is fed directly into the National Grid, the Hydro creates an income to maintain the scheme, pay a return to investors and contribute to our ever popular Environmental Challenge fund.
Our knowledgeable volunteers will give tours of the site and discuss the complexities and quirks involved in such a venture. We look forward to welcoming you.
