Brazouka Stockholm are happy to present Lambada Weekender with one of the most popular couples in the Lambada scene: Lydia & Matheus! Join us for a weekend full of workshops, privates, parties and joy in Brazilian spirit.
This is a perfect opportunity to try out if you are experienced Zouk dancer and curious about Lambada.

LYDIA & MATHEUS
Lydia and Matheus are a renowned lambada dance couple known for their strong connection, smooth flow, and expressive musicality. Their style blends traditional lambada roots with modern technique captivating the fluid movements and playfulness in the dance.
Lydia is originally from the United States and Matheus from Brazil. Together, they share a passion for dance while bringing a fresh interpretation and renewed spirit to it.

WHY LAMBADA?
Are you curious about Lambada? Have you experienced Zouk before and want to learn Lambada? This is a perfect opportunity to learn Lambada if you have danced before or to learn Lambada for Zouk dancers - or perhaps why not deepen your Lambada skills from these masters?
LAMBADA is a partner dance originating from Brazil, known for its flowing hip movements and close connection between dancers. It developed in the late 1970s and 1980s, blending elements of Brazilian dances like forró and carimbó with Caribbean and Latin influences.
The dance gained worldwide popularity in 1989 after the release of the hit song “Lambada” by the group Kaoma, often called “the forbidden dance” because of its sensual style. Although the global craze was short-lived, lambada strongly influenced later dances, especially the development of modern Brazilian Zouk, and lately influenced the different dance styles, such as West Coast Swing or Sensual Bachata.

*About BRAZOUKA STOCKHOLM*
Brazouka Stockholm is the oldest dance school in Stockholm specializing in the Brazilian couple dances Lambada and Lambazouk. Founded by Joanna Kosinska, the school is built on her many years of experience as a Lambada dancer and teacher. Our focus is on delivering high-quality teaching and learning, with a strong commitment to providing all students with solid fundamentals, proper frame, technique, and a deep understanding of rhythm.
The school began offering regular classes in 2008 and has since organized numerous Zouk and Lambada events, welcoming internationally renowned guest teachers from around the world. Brazouka Stockholm is also the founder of the popular outdoor Zouk & Lambada evenings during summertime.
In addition, Brazouka Stockholm is the first Swedish dance school to be represented at Brazilian congresses, London Zoukfest in 2018 and 2019, and Brazilian Dance Holidays in Spain in 2019. In 2023, Brazouka Stockholm proudly organized Sweden’s first Lambada Festival in Stockholm, featuring many world-famous artists from the Lambada Scene.
