DESCRIPTION:
St. Charles and St. Louis served as vital hubs for early American exploration. St. Charles was the launching point for Lewis and Clark and the eastern terminus for the Boone’s Lick and Santa Fe Trails. Both cities connected settlers and explorers to the vast interior of the American West.
