STL QUEER SANGHA: You Can Sit With Us
2nd Tuesdays
7-8:30pm
**NEW LOCATION BEGINNING JULY 9TH**
An inclusive sangha (spiritual community) for all LGBTQIA+ folks and allies cultivating a path of Spiritual Solidarity.
--
This Insight meditation group is for those seeking to explore and engage with the liberatory principles of Buddhist teachings and philosophy.
"STL Queer Sangha: You Can Sit With Us" engages the concept of SPIRITUAL SOLIDARITY or "kalyana mitta", as author Kate Johnson, who is a multiracial meditation teacher, artist, and activist writes about in her book “Radical Friendship”:
“Kalyana mitta is the name for the quality of relationships between members of a community who are collectively committed to liberation.”
Together through SPIRITUAL SOLIDARITY we cultivate:
- Refuge in our own innate Divinity & capacity for liberation.
- Refuge in praxis, our own direct experience making the practices alive through active engagement.
- Refuge in community solidarity, taking interdependence from transactional to reciprocal.
