General Information about our 2025 Stitching in the Highlands Winter Retreat.
What is Stitching in the Highlands?
It is a hand sewing retreat which runs for 3 days (Friday through to Sunday). Whether you like embroidery, English paper piecing, handwork, felting, knitting and more this is the perfect event to attend and to work on whatever project you like. It is about having fun and meeting new people. No sewing machines please.
What is the cost and what is included in the cost?
The event fee $90 is per person. This allows you to attend all 3 days of the retreat. No goodies bag will be provided to attendees, it is an optional extra that you can choose to add onto your booking. The enrollment fee is for one person only and cannot be shared.
What is included in the Retreat Goodies Bag?
This year we have decided on feedback to make the Retreat Goodies Bag optional. The cost is $30 and will contain at least 2 new sewing projects, these projects combined have a value of over $30. It also contains several other small sewing themed goodies in it. It is up to you if you wish to add this bag as an optional extra to your booking and you must have opted to purchase it by the 26th May. These bags will be available for pick up at enrollment on the first day. Only the attendee will be able to pick it up at the retreat. If you have booked a bag and not able to attend the retreat a refund will be provided to you of $30.
How do I enroll?
You need to call us on (02) 48771382 to book your place. Your place is not confirmed until payment has been paid, we do not hold places. Full payment is required at booking and is non refundable.
What if I can’t attend all 3 days?
Not an issue, we had many attendees only able to attend on the weekend. The cost is the same $90.
Where is Stitching in the Highlands held?
Stitching in the Highlands retreat will be held at Mittagong RSL.
Can I bring my sewing machine?
No sorry no sewing machines, there is no access to power.
I am from out of town where should I stay?
Accommodation is not included in the retreat fee. On site at Mittagong RSL you will find the Springs Motel which you can book directly with. There are several motels and many B&Bs in the area and throughout the Southern Highlands.
Are food & drinks included in the fee?
Food and beverages are not included in the fee however the RSL has a selection of meal/drink and food options. Please note you are not allowed to bring into Mittagong RSL any outside food & drinks including snacks and lollies! This is a policy of the club. We ask that you do not bring in any large flasks or drink bottles. Bottled water is available for purchase in the club and there are also water stations.
I have friends that will be attending and we want to sit together.
When we send out the email, 1 month prior to the retreat with all the details we ask at that time who you would like to sit with if coming with friends or a group. Please do not provide this information prior to that email as we will loose it!
When do we receive confirmation of our booking?
You will receive confirmation at the time your booking is processed. This is an automatic email that sometimes ends up in the junk/spam folder. If you are booking as a group the main contact will receive confirmation email at time booking is processed. 1 month prior to the retreat we send out a full email with details about the retreat, timings and so on.
Terms and Conditions of Booking
By booking a place for our Winter 2025 Stitching in the Highlands Retreat you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Berrima Patchwork does not accept responsibility for changes in personal circumstances of its Stitching in the Highlands attendees.
Your enrollment fee is NON REFUNDABLE. If you cannot attend however and have a friend who wishes to take your place please contact us ASAP, you must let us know prior to the event who is taking your place otherwise they will not be allowed to attend the retreat. If you are unable to attend or fill your place please contact us as we may have a waiting list and if we are able to fill your place you will receive a refund less a $10 administration fee.
No food or beverages purchased outside the club are to be brought into the venue, this includes lollies and snacks.
Retreat Goodies Bags are optional and must be booked for purchase prior to the 26th May. These bag will be available for pick up at time of registration. The bag can only be picked up by the attendee at the retreat. If you cannot physically attend the retreat and have booked the bag you will receive a refund of the $30.
No friends or visitors will be permitted into the event room. Enrollment cannot be shared it is for one person only to attend the retreat. Name tags must be worn at all times during the retreat.
Berrima Patchwork does not accept responsibility for changes in the personal circumstances of its students and reserves the rights to refuse to accept a booking. While we appreciate that other quilt and patchwork business owners would like to attend, this retreat is designed solely for our retail, non commercial customers. We do not allow any promotion of events, business' or selling of merchandise between attendees at this event.
