Stitch Over Tea: Beginner Crochet Workshop

Vent Over Tea is excited to welcome you to our event series Stitch Over Tea, a gathering where fiber arts and community care meet 🧵

Led by Vent Over Tea’s own Marissa, with the support of Megan, each session explores a different fiber arts practice, ranging from cross-stitching and crochet to sewing, offering a mindful space for conversation and connection.
This edition will focus on crocheting, with participants creating soft, handmade coasters inspired by the small rituals that gather us, warm mugs resting on tables, long conversations, and the comfort of having something made slowly by hand.
Using a simple square pattern as our foundation, participants will learn beginner-friendly crochet techniques while exploring one of the most essential building blocks in crochet, a versatile base pattern that can later be expanded into countless future projects.

🪡 Each participant will receive a free crochet kit that includes the pattern, a crochet hook, a needle, stitch markers, and yarn!

Come crochet, sip, and sit together in a beginner-friendly space open to all levels.

About your facilitators
Marissa Norton is the Executive Director at Vent Over Tea. They are a trained active listener, and an advocate for mental health awareness and emotional literacy. Marissa’s passion for fibre arts as both a mindful practice to slow down and relax as well as a creative outlet has led them to exploring various techniques like crochet, cross-stitch, and punch needle.
