Stitch & B!tch - Beginner Rug Making
Ready to get crafty? Join us in person for a fun and laid-back session of rug making designed just for beginners. Whether you’re looking to pick up a new hobby or just want to hang out with fellow stitchers, this event is all about creativity and good vibes. Bring your enthusiasm and get ready to stitch, chat, and maybe even bitch a little!
This Beginner to Intermediate class will cover how to make a slip knot, work a foundation chain, the single crochet stitch, while working 4 strands of yourns at once.
We will be working on a 2' by 3' rectangle rug. These rugs are not only machine washable but can also be used for both indoor and outdoor use!
Skill level: beginner to intermediate
Materials included: 10mm hook, tapestry needle, 3 stitch markers, yarn - These rugs are typycally made by using 4 strands of acrylic yarns however, we have a fun collection of handspun marled yarns that could replace 1 acryclic strand to use, if you're wanting a little extra pazzaz.
Lenth: 2 hours
Cost: $105+ tax/person *Maximum 8 attendees per class
Instructor: Chantelle
Chantelle has been a free-form mixed textil artist for 20+ years. Her first introduction to crocheting was at the age of 8, learning how to crochet farm style rag rugs with her great-grandmother. Some 30 years later, she now focuses on making free-from (no pattern) crochet items such as rugs, hoods, festival clothing and other uqniue items.

Although we do not offer refunds for cacellations, we do offer for you to either send someone in your place or transfer to a future class.
Any classes cancelled by us will allow you the option for a refund or transfer to future class.
*Parking: When visiting Meraki Emporium, there is great parking on 100th street, just South of Whyte Avenue. There are many other free parking options available for you such as: angle parking and residential parking that are all free. Of course, there is convenient paid parking on Whyte Avenue via EPark.
