The Community Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to welcome back Stinkfoot Orchestra to the WOW Hall on Thursday, October 22nd.
A 14-piece Tribute to Frank Zappa featuring Zappa alum, Napoleon Murphy Brock Eugene, OR — The Stinkfoot Orchestra returns to Eugene on October 22nd with a show at WOW Hall. Based out of the San Francisco Bay Area, this critically acclaimed ensemble which includes a six-piece horn section, tuned percussion, and five vocalists has spent the last few years building a loyal following up and down the West Coast – earning a reputation as one of the most dynamic and entertaining Zappa tribute acts touring today. Known for performances that combine technical precision, theatrical humor, and a large-scale use of orchestration rarely heard or seen in tribute bands, the ensemble has been embraced by the Pacific Northwest since their first tour in the Summer of 2022 with WOW Hall remaining one of their favorite stops. Having toured with alumni Ray White and Ike Willis, this performance features Napoleon Murphy Brock. As the iconic front man for Frank Zappa’s most infamous 1970’s ensemble, Brock helped breathe life into many of Frank’s most enduring compositions over the course of 4 albums including what many consider to be Zappa’s greatest live release, Roxy and Elsewhere. Decades later, the Grammy Award-winner still boasts a 4-octave range and wields a magnetic personality that dominates the stage.
