About this Event
In a world that moves quickly, Stillness & Soil invites you to pause. Join wellness artist and plant creator Taye Maat, founder of Stillness & Kokedamas, for a calming afternoon of meditation and botanical creativity. This intimate workshop begins with a gentle guided meditation to help you arrive fully in the moment. From that grounded place, you will be guided step-by-step in creating your own snake plant kokedama — a beautiful Japanese-inspired moss ball plant that can sit or hang as living art in your home.
Rather than rushing through a craft, this experience invites you to slow down, work with your hands, and reconnect with the quiet rhythm of nature. Snake plants are known for their resilience and architectural beauty, making them a perfect companion for both beginner and experienced plant lovers. Throughout the workshop, Taye will share the process of kokedama making while also weaving in reflections on plant care, patience, and the grounding relationship between soil, breath, and presence.
You will leave with:
• Your own handcrafted snake plant kokedama
• Knowledge of the kokedama technique so you can continue exploring plant artistry
• A calm, creative reset for your mind and nervous system.
All materials are provided.
This workshop is intentionally small to create a relaxed and welcoming environment where participants can enjoy the process of creating something living and beautiful.
Whether you come alone, with a friend, or simply looking for a mindful way to spend a Saturday afternoon, Stillness & Soil offers a unique blend of meditation, creativity, and plant connection.
