This month our volunteer event will be taking care of the trees at the North Shore. We will be mulching the trees to retain moisture and prevent soil erosion. Mulching the trees also helps with temperature regulation and W**d reduction.
The Dos and Don’ts of mulching trees:
DO maintain a level of 2-4 inches in mulch depth while leaving a and inch or two of space between the mulch and tree base.
DO NOT create a mulch volcano by piling up excessive mulch around the tree trunk. Please keep it level.
