Stewardship Party: Steward, Harvest, and Feast

Help us continue to promote biodiversity by limiting certain plant populations in the preserve and learn more (and taste!) the Eat More Mushrooms Project and the role fungi can play in ecological restoration!

Last month we walked the new trail and addressed the barberry population to protect the understory for native plants and animals and save us from ticks and thorns! Come ready to pull/cut/stack pokey barberry. Also, the Shiitake logs at Red Fox Ravine are ready to fruit again, and Eat More Mushrooms Project is ready to feed us with mushroom sustenance and knowledge after our hard work. As we enjoy a delicious dish made with fresh Shiitake that we harvest from the RFR Shiitake yard with other local ingredients and drink cold beverages, we'll chat with mycologist Luke Sarrantonio and learn about mushroom cultivation, the potential for fungi in ecological restoration work, and projects here at RFR.
