About this Event
Join this very special community stewardship event hosted by students from Gibson Ek High School in parthership with the Lake Sammamish Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership (UWRP), Trout Unlimited (TU), Green Issaquah and the Snoqulamie Indian Tribe.
Students will lead the effort at Anthology Open Space to plant native trees and remove invasive species in the wetland area along a section of Tibbetts Creek. This special event is part of a Design Lab collaboration between Gibson Ek High School and Trout Unlimited focusing on kokanee salmon recovery and watershed health. Staff from Green Issaquah and the Snoqualmie Tribe will be there to support the event and provide outreach.
Event Details
Specific meeting location will be sent via email before the event. Volunteers will be using shovels and other tools to plant native trees and shrubs and cut and dig blackberry out.
All community members are welcome, and no experience necessary!

- Closed-toed shoes are required.
- Don’t forget your water, snacks, and any additional layers to keep yourself comfortable while you’re out.
- We will provide the know-how, gloves, and tools, for everyone to be successful.

Specific parking directions will be emailed out prior to the event. There may be limited parking and carpooling is encouraged.
Accessibility
This event is family friendly and open to all ages. Stewardship activities will take place on uneven ground including grass, dirt, and boardwalk trails. There are no restroom facilities on site. We understand everyone experiences the outdoors differently and we are open to working with anyone that needs additional support.
