Now, he returns to the literary world with a contribution to the anthology Collision, a collection of stories that brings together some of the finest contemporary writers.
In this special event, Steven Moffat will discuss his career in television, where he redefined iconic characters such as the Doctor and Sherlock Holmes, bringing them to new generations of fans. He’ll explain his creative process, exploring how he balances the demands of writing for the screen with the nuances of short fiction.
Moffat will share insights into his short story featured in Collision, revealing the inspirations behind it and how it fits into his broader body of work. He’ll also reflect on the themes that have shaped his writing — from time travel and mystery to the complexities of human relationships — and how these are explored differently in prose versus television.
This is a rare opportunity to hear from the writer who has brought some of the most beloved characters in television history to life. Get an insider’s view on the making of Doctor Who and Sherlock, including anecdotes and insights that fans won’t want to miss.
Join us as we close our festival on a high note with a night of engaging conversation and storytelling from one of the most influential writers of our time.
