On Saturday 22nd March we present a huuuuge blues double-bill when not only does the legendary Steve Ajao brings the Blues Giants to JJJ, but those fine boogie-meisters Vincent Flatts Final Drive hit the stage too!Now in its fourth decade, the Blues Giants trio play authentic classic American Blues with Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Parker, Johnny Guitar Watson evident in their set, all played with a cheeky smile on their faces with bluesman Steve Ajao and the boys (George Cook - bass, and drummer Pete ‘Washboard’ Hammond) bringing a wealth of musical experience to the stage and always put on a great show!
We hardly feel we need to describe the Flatts as you all know them by now, right? However, for the uninitiated we can attest to the fact that the boys always put on a great show packed full of driving boogie numbers featuring excellent guitar work from Gary Harper underpinned by the driving rhythm section of Rich Shelton (Drums) and Russ Cook (Bass) ... oh, and of course Birmingham music leg-end Sir Steve 'Bertie' Burton on vocals.
