Sterling Legacy Community Day w/ Dancing Grounds

Join us for two complimentary dance classes (Salsa Fit and Bounce N Line) hosted by lululemon for adults between 10:30M-12:30PM. These classes will be he held inside of the Lyons Rec Center dance studio with lululemon brand ambassadors and led by lululemon community partner, Dancing Grounds. This event is in partnership with Sports Power Brunch for the Sterling Legacy Community Day.

Class 1: 1030AM-11:30AM (Salsa Fit)

Class 2: 11:30AM-12:30PM (Bounce N Line)

Class Description:

This is a high-energy class to get that heart beat up, and feet moving. Improve your footwork, cardiovascular, cognitive skills and confidence. There will be no partnering moves, so no partner required!

Class: Bounce N Line

Class Description:

This is a bounce and line dance inspired cardio class designed to work out the body and mind. Get ready to learn dance moves to New Orleans Bounce music from the 90's through present day. We will dance nonstop, repeating moves in a sequence leading into line dance combinations with intentions to sweat and release. This class is open to all fitness levels so come ready to move your body and work your shoulders, hips, thighs, feet, and everything in between.

Dancing Grounds (DG) develops young leaders, promotes health & wellness, and advocates for social change through inclusive and accessible dance programs reaching New Orleans residents of all ages. Our flagship initiative, Dance for Social Change, inspires New Orleans youth to use their artistic talents to catalyze positive social change in our community. We also host the most comprehensive adult dance program in the city. Since 2012, DG has reached over 3,500 young people, 8,000 adults and 12,000 audience members. From our programming to operations, staffing and resourcing, we lead from our values of equity & racial justice, space & place, integrity & accountability, relationships & organizing, abundance & joy.
