Meet Carlos (aka Yoshua EM) – an electronic musician from Mexico - the visionary behind the experimental psychedelic trance label Blooming Minds Records, focused on intense, driving and powerful electronic music with deeply atmospheric & encapsulating sound design.
As a Darkpsy producer he usually doesn’t allow himself to be locked in or chewed up by any conventional boundaries, aside from the trance 4x4 gridlock – the fundamental basis or canvas for psychedelic dance music. As a team of sound professionals we’d like to reiterate our belief in the importance of genre-defying electronic musicians as pivotal reference points for how we as musicians, engineers and record consumers alike – ultimately perceive sound itself.
Humbly inviting you to a relaxed artist residency program with Yoshua EM, scheduled over a period of 4 days.
Carlos will be opening up a new auditory canvas, and building a fresh sonic portal from scratch. We will set up a simple producer workstation for him, routed to an industry standard PA system along with a screen for participants to observe his workflow. This is an experiential workshop aimed at advanced listeners / producers, not an educational module – so the onus is entirely on our participants to keep pace. Lastly, and most importantly – all participants will receive access to a shared Google drive folder to add sounds / effects / percussions on the go. This is a group project that requires all our participants to cooperate and be in tandem! On day 4, treat your ears to a 5-hr active sound meditation from Yoshua EM, to close the experience.
