STEPS: A Soul Session (Film Screening + R&B Mixer + Soul Talk)
About this Event
STEPS: A Soul Session (Film Screening)
This August, Orlando's queer and creative community, and everyone who believes in the power of honest storytelling, is invited to experience more than a film screening.
Experience an evening of film, R&B, meaningful conversation, and connection.
Featuring the award-winning Orlando-filmed short film STEPS by filmmaker Steven Lamar, this special event brings together community through a story centered on a queer Black man navigating the past, healing, and the choices that shape who we become.
After screening at film festivals from Las Vegas to Atlanta, STEPS now invites Orlando audiences to experience the film in the city where it was created.
Come for the film. Stay for the soul.

On his way to a dinner date, Braven, a queer Black man, is unexpectedly confronted by the past he thought he had left behind. As old wounds resurface, he must decide whether protecting his peace means walking away or finally facing what still has a hold on him.
