“JOYAS DE VAQUERA” sounds like a huge production because it is. “JOYAS DE VAQUERA” was recorded and mixed in three different studios, with the input of top-level producers, engineers, and arrangers such as PATTERSON BARRETT, the band’s Musical Director. Nothing was left to chance. The first tracks and the foundation for “JOYAS DE VAQUERA” were first recorded in Tornillo, Texas, followed by recording of vocals and overdubs in Nashville, TN, with the final mixing and mastering done in Kyle, TX . The project produced by URBINA JONES and producer/ manager PRESTON “SHOES” SULLIVAN coordinated up to the smallest detail throughout the recording of “JOYAS DE VAQUERA.”
The initial tracking sessions were recorded at the Sonic Ranch on the border town of Tornillo, Texas, the world’s largest residential recording studio complex, with Manuel Calderón as engineer. Urbina Jones and the production team then traveled to Nashville, where all vocals, background vocals, trumpet solos, and harp were recorded at the historical Omni Sound Studios with engineers Rory Rositas and Josh Emmons. The final mixes were done by Rick Del Castillo (DEL CASTILLO) and Preston “Shoes” Sullivan at Smilin Castle studios in Kyle, Texas.
