About this Event

Waterstones Stratford upon Avon are delighted to welcome Stephanie Bramwell-Lawes (Thornby Manor), Barbara Havelocke (Estella's Revenge, Estella's Fury) and Caroline Lea (Love, Sex & Frankenstein) to the shop to discuss their novels.
The evening will consist of an author panel, followed by a Q&A and a book signing. Copies of the books will be available to purchase on the night. This is a ticketed event, with tickets starting at £3 for loyalty card holders and £5 for non loyalty card holders.
About the authors:
Stephanie Bramwell-Lawes grew up in the historic city of Bath. A lifelong love of literature led to a career in publishing, and her passion for books has only continued to grow ever since. Her favourite novels include Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Rebecca, and anything by Tracy Chevalier. She currently lives in Warwickshire. Thornby Manor is her debut novel.
Barbara Havelocke is an international bestselling author who creates dark, tense Gothic historical thrillers set in the early Victorian era. Estella's Revenge, inspired by Great Expectations, was nominated for the prestigious Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award 2025. The sequel, Estella's Fury, is out now. For over twenty years Barbara worked on national magazines & newspapers, talking to victims of crime- and its perpetrators. Her fiction reflects this: she creates realistic characters, and often explores moral grey areas. She lives in Birmingham, with her partner and their three dogs.
Caroline Lea grew up on the island of Jersey. The Glass Woman, her debut, is a gothic thriller set during the Icelandic witch trials and was shortlisted for the HWA Debut Crown. The Metal Heart, a Waterstones Scottish Book of the Month, is an epic Second World War love story; Prize Women reveals a feminist scandal at the heart of the Roaring Twenties. Her latest novel reimagines the writing of Frankenstein: Love, Sex & Frankenstein hurls readers into the chaotic summer that should have broken eighteen year old Mary Shelley, but instead inspired her to create literature's most iconic monster.
