About this course
Join this introductory course, learning the creative and enjoyable process of stencil screen printing.
Print your own colourful design onto a cotton tea towel, tote bag or t shirt.
You will be taken step by step through creating your design, making your stencils, and then screen printing the image onto a tote bag or tea towel(provided by us). You may also bring your own tshirt or fabric item to print onto if you wish. Please note items must lie completely flat and be made from 100% cotton or linen. A cotton cushion cover or pillowcase is perfect.
This course will also cover how to fix your design making it durable and washable.
What experience do I need?
This is aimed at beginners who would like to try out this process, as well as those who are refreshing their skills.
What will I need to bring?
You may like to bring some design ideas, drawings or photographs to work from.
High contrast images with chunky shapes work best for this process as you will be cutting out your designs using newsprint paper.
All other materials and equipment will be provided.
We will provide refreshments and nibbles. You may wish to bring snacks and water bottle.
Who is my tutor?
Sophie McIntosh is a printmaker and designer with over 20 years experience in teaching and running the print studio - Hey Ho Print Co. Sophie also works nationally with community groups and art organisations to spread the wonders of printmaking, creativity and wellbeing.
