This is a fully accessible classroom on the first floor and can be accessed by the elevator or stairs. Parking is available in the Eno River Parking Garage. Enter through the driveway of the Orange County Library for the closest parking.
About the Class:
In this class, you will create a vibrant piece of art using simple imagery, acrylic paints and stencils. You can paint on plain cotton fabric (and take it home to make into a small art quilt or other project) OR on a pre-stretched canvas. Students begin one or two original projects, learning how to work with acrylic paints to create a background, stencil patterns onto the background, and then paint around their imagery.

About the Artist: Susan Brubaker Knapp
Susan is an award-winning fiber artist, author, photographer, teacher, and host of “Quilting Arts TV” on PBS. She is an artist who works in fabric and thread. She finds great joy in creating works that draw people closer and invite them to savor color, texture and form. Her art celebrates and documents the deep mysteries of the world that are to be experienced only by close inspection of the miraculous details of nature. Increasingly, Susan's work explores environmental, political and social issues that affect our world.
