This special evening features Annandale Wines, a historic estate renowned for its exceptional red wines, and is graced by the presence of rugby legend and fifth-generation winemaker, Hempies du Toit.

About Annandale Wines:
Established in 1688, Annandale Wine Estate is one of South Africa's oldest wineries, situated on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains in Stellenbosch. The estate boasts a rich history, with its manor house and cellar dating back to the early 1700s, reflecting a legacy of over three centuries in winemaking.
Under the stewardship of Hempies du Toit, Annandale has flourished. Hempies, a former Springbok rugby player, brings a unique blend of athletic discipline and winemaking expertise to the estate. His dedication to traditional winemaking methods has resulted in wines that are authentic expressions of the terroir and grape varieties.
Pieter Gerhardus "Hempies" du Toit is a distinguished South African rugby union player and winemaker. Born in 1953, he was a formidable tighthead prop for the Springboks during the early 1980s, known for his strength and skill in the scrum. After retiring from rugby, Hempies continued his family's winemaking tradition, taking over Annandale Wine Estate in 1996.
