ROOM ANOTHER is a newly founded ensemble led by trumpeter Bastian Stein and bassist Florian Herzog. Together with vibraphonist Evi Filippou, pianist Felix Hauptmann, and drummer Leif Berger, the group brings together key figures of the young German jazz scene.
The music of ROOM ANOTHER moves between compositional precision and collective improvisation. At its core lies the idea of “space” — a creative realm where four musical personalities interact as equals. Central to the ensemble’s sound are Stein’s powerful yet flexible trumpet tone and Herzog’s rhythmically and structurally distinctive bass playing. From these compositional foundations emerge pieces that are both clearly structured and open to spontaneous development.
