About this Event
Join Brinksway Community Cinema for a special screening of Steel Magnolias (PG) on Thursday 12th March.
In a month where we're celebrating International Women's Day and Mother's Day, we can't think of a better way to reflect on the relationships, care and shared experiences that connect us than this late-80's classic about friendship, and the joy of showing up for one another.
Synopsis
Set in a lively small-town beauty salon, Steel Magnolias is a heartfelt and often hilarious story about friendship, resilience and the bonds that grow between women over time. Through everyday conversations, moments of vulnerability and plenty of laughter, a group of friends support one another through life’s joys and challenges, reminding us how powerful community, kindness and humour can be.
The evening also marks the launch of , taking place on Friday 13th March - an early exploration of film archive, photos, story sharing about the working class creative traditons of rose fete and rose queens that took place around Brinksway, Edgeley and Stockport as part of a wider programme and collaboration between Brinksway Cinema Club and What if? and friends...
