With Farrah Southam from The Re-Covery Upholstery Shop and Mandy Szigethy of Rose City Upholstery!
This presentation highlights how reupholstering furniture integrates STEAM into a sustainable practice. We’ll explore the science behind material choices, the engineering of structural repairs, and the artistry of design, all while reducing waste and extending the life of quality furniture. By upgrading second-hand pieces, homeowners can reduce their environmental impact, minimize landfill waste, and create personalized, high-quality items. This hands-on application of STEAM not only fosters creativity but also promotes sustainability in a meaningful way.
Join us for STEAM Pub! We are partnering up with our friends at Art Bop Beer Co! Once a month we’ll take a deep dive into a STEAM topic (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) AND we’ll do it with a drink in hand! Art Bop will be bringing your favorite beer and kombucha! We will also have wine, water, and soda. First drink is included in the cost of your ticket. Feel free to bring your own light snacks to munch on while you learn all about a new topic every month! Additional beverages are $5.00 each.
